How to enable system restore on Windows 10: Windows operating system comes with many recovery features that will help you to fix problems that you may come across in different situations. One of these features includes a system restore point, which allows you to take your computer back to the way it was when the restore point was created. System restore point mostly applicable if any problem caused by a recent update or driver or install/uninstall an application.

Method 1. Search for create a restore point

  1. Open the start menu, search for create a restore point from the taskbar and select it from the search of results.
  2. On the system protection tab in system properties, select your computer system drive and check whether the system protection is on or off. If it’s ON you can jump for creating a restore point (For how to create a restore point, Click here). If it’s OFF you can select your computer system drive, Normally C drive, and click on configure.
  3. Select the next, turn on the system protection option
  4. Click apply and okay 

Method 2. Enable system restore feature by using via “sysdm.cpl” command

  1. Enter sysdm.cpl in command prompt (For how to access command Prompt, Click here)
  2. Once the system properties Window opened you can select on system protection. Select your computer system drive and check whether the system protection is on or off. If it’s ON You can jump to creating a restore point (For how to create a restore point, Click here). If it’s OFF you can select your computer system drive, Normally c drive, and click on configure.
  3. Select the next then turn on the system protection option
  4. Click apply and okay

Method 3. Accessing via control Panel

  1. Open the start menu, search for the control panel from the taskbar and select it from the search of results
  2. On the Control Panel, click system then choose system protection
  3. On the system protection tab select your computer system drive and check whether the system protection is on or off. If it’s On You can jump for creating a restore point (For how to create a restore point, Click here). If it’s OFF you can select your computer system drive, Normally c drive, and click on configure.
  1. Select the next then turn on the system protection option
  2. Click Apply and Okay

Method 4. Enable system restore feature by using elevated PowerShell

  1. Open Elevated PowerShell (For how to open elevated PowerShell prompt, click here)
  2. type the below command and press enter

“PS C:\> Enable-ComputerRestore -Drive “C:\”
