How-To:

Method 1. Search for create a restore point

  1. Open the start menu, search for create a restore point from the task bar and select it from the search of results.
  2. On the system protection tab in the system properties window, select the system restore button.
  3. Now a Window will appear, click next.
  4. On the next page, click to select your preferred restore point from the available list.
  5. Click Next to continue.
  6. On the confirm your restore point page, click finish.
  7. On the warning box that appears, click ok to confirm your action.

Method 2. use system restore via “sysdm.cpl” command

  1. Enter sysdm.cpl in command prompt (For how to access command Line, Click here)
  2. On the system protection tab in system properties window, select the system restore button.
  3. Now a Window will appear, click next.
  4. On the next page, click to select your preferred restore point from the available list.
  5. Click Next to continue.
  6. On the confirm your restore point page, click finish.
  7. On the warning box that appears, click ok to confirm your action.

Method 3. Use System Restore via accessing control Panel

  1. Open start menu, search for “control panel” from the task bar and select it from the search of results
  2. On the control Panel, click system then choose system protection
  3. On the system protection tab in system properties window, select the system restore button.
  4. Now a Window will appear, click next.
  5. On the next page, click to select your preferred restore point from the available list.
  6. Click Next to continue.
  7. On the confirm your restore point page, click finish.
  8. On the warning box that appears, click ok to confirm your action.

Method 4. Search for “recovery”

  1. Open start menu, search for “recovery” from the task bar and select it from the search of results.
  2. On the advanced recovery tools, select open system restore
  3. Now a Window will appear, click next.
  4. On the next page, click to select your preferred restore point from the available list.
  5. Click Next to continue.
  6. On the confirm your restore point page, click finish.
  7. On the warning box that appears, click ok to confirm your action.

Method 5. Using System Restore when your Windows 10 PC won’t boot

If your PC won’t boot properly to allow you to run Restore point, or crashes almost immediately, you can run the tool from Windows 10’s “Advanced startup options”.

1. Start or restart your PC, then press the F11 key while it’s booting. Alternatively, hold down the Shift key while restarting your system.

A blue screen will appear asking you to Choose an option. Select “Troubleshoot“.

2. You’ll now be presented with the “Advanced options” screen. If not, look for a button with that name and click it.

Either way, select the System Restore option.

3. Choose your Windows account, enter your password, then click Continue.

This will open the Restore point wizard. You can now restore your PC to its previous working health, as described in the previous section.
